Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
"Hi there, I am Ana, 30 years young and working as an International Account Manager at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) in Amsterdam. From 2006 – 2010 I studied International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) at HZ."
Why did you chose to study International Business at HZ?
"My reason for choosing HZ and IBMS? Well, it was quite simple. I wanted to study in an international environment, at a university with great rankings. IBMS would not only give me the international vibe and experience I was looking for, but it also focuses on giving students a broad knowledge on business aspects. The programme also has the option to participate in all kinds of events to enhance personal development."
What did you learn from your experience at HZ?
"This experience got me motivated to pursue my Master’s degree and got me to where I am today; working for an international company that operates worldwide. Managing our European dealer network and travelling is just part of my job."
Next to studying, what other experiences did you have during your time at HZ?
"Biking to other cities and chilling at the amazing boulevard (beach) is just a few examples of how I enjoyed my student life here. Other things you might consider doing is joining HZ Cult, like I did, which includes various events like city trips, theatre, cinema and so much more. If you are more an outdoorsy type, you can participate in HZ Sport, where, for example, rowing competitions are held at least once a year. Or perhaps joining the student association is more your thing? Either way, you have plenty of things to choose from and bring you the excitement, which is much needed to survive the actual studying :)"
Do you ever miss the HZ?
"Oh yes and I try to visit Vlissingen at least once a month. Even though it is a small city, it has many things to offer.
