Recent years have shown that GPS data can provide great insight into visitor flows - places visited, movements and crowds. After the discontinuation of the Zeeland App, alternative sources of GPS data will be worked on in the coming years to continue and expand similar analyses.

Furthermore, KCKT (together with UGent) attempted to calibrate GPS data (collected in the past via the VVV-Zeeland app) based on regular traffic counts. Unfortunately, however, there was a limited amount of GPS data available for this purpose. Therefore, a method has now been developed that can help calibrate GPS data, namely based on traffic counts.

An exploration of future-proof GPS data was also carried out.
