HZ students and employees have a voice through the Hogeschoolraad (University Council). This means that the University Council is an undivided council.

Collective interest

The UC functions on the basis of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act (WHW) and pursues the collective interest of those involved in HZ. The University Council meetings are public and take place mostly on a weekly basis. The nature of the meetings is alternately informative, opinion-forming or decision-making. The agenda is established in joint consultation with the director (the Executive Board). Consultations are held with the HZ Supervisory Board twice a year. Regular consultations also take place with the trade unions, the Executive Board discussion partner when it comes to matters relating to employment conditions.
