Step 1: Check the admission requirements

To be accepted as a student there are certain university admission requirements you have to meet. These are dependent on your chosen field of study and your level of English.

To qualify for a master you should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university (of applied sciences) or accredited academic institution in a discipline related to that of the master’s programme (certified copy of a diploma together with the official transcript of academic records).

Depending on your chosen master, there may be additional entry requirements you have to meet.

River Delta Development

To apply for the master River Delta Development you need to write a letter of motivation. There will also be an intake interview and an elevator pitch. The details of these requirements can be found on the River Delta Development page.

All courses and examinations will be in English, so you need a good command of spoken and written English. The level required for admission should be an equivalent of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.0. For the scores of other accepted language tests than IELTS, the table below applies.

Language Requirements

IELTS Academic
The IELTS Academic test is suitable for those wanting to study in an English-speaking environment or university (higher education).
We cannot accept IELTS online edition tests.

TOEFL
We also accept the TOEFL Home Edition Tests, only in case it is not possible to make use of the regular language tests due to the language test centers on location being closed or inaccessible due to unsafe situations in a country.

TOEIC
As long as the modules ‘Speaking and Writing’ and ‘Listening and Reading’ were successfully completed.

Pearson PTE Academic
We cannot accept Pearson PTE Academic at-home edition tests.

LanguageCert Academic
We also cannot accept LanguageCert Home Edition tests.

Cambridge
In order to be able to verify your Cambridge English results online we kindly request you to share your results online by logging into the Candidate Results website and choosing to share them with HZ University of Applied Sciences.

If you graduated in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada (except Quebec), Malta, Australia or New-Zealand or if you are holding a diploma (including English as an exam subject) listed on the diploma list, drawn up on behalf of the associations of institutions of higher education, you do not need to take a mandatory English test.
