Teun Terpstra sees himself as a knowledge entrepreneur based on the idea that knowledge is fundamental to making strategic choices. He also believes that this knowledge is only valuable when shared and applied with others. The Resilient Deltas research group conducts research into climate adaptation, driven by questions from (local) governments and businesses. The research results in practical advice on how to adapt to risks of flooding, drought/water scarcity and extreme weather, such as heavy rainfall. The multidisciplinary group has broad expertise in risk analysis, spatial planning, economics, governance and social sciences.
