In this study route, you focus completely on sustainable forms of energy, such as solar and wind energy.
You learn how energy can be generated more sustainably or how we can handle materials more intelligently. In this way, you ensure that the use of fossil raw materials stops.
You also learn how we deal with increasingly scarce material resources in a smart way. Look behind the curtain of, for example, a food company, an engineering firm, an energy producer or a (petro)chemical factory.
In the third year of the programme, you choose your minor. A minor will allow you to deepen or broaden your knowledge and skills. You can do this at the HZ or at another university of applied sciences in the Netherlands or abroad.
The HZ offers 3 different minors that complement the Engineering programme:
During the other semester, you gain work experience with your do an internship. You can choose whether you stay in the Netherlands or go abroad.
In the final year, you choose one study route: Mechatronic Engineering or Energy & Process Engineering. In the first semester, you will have classes and projects.
In the second half of the year, you will work on your graduation project. You design and research technical improvements and innovations in a company during your final project. The choice is yours whether to do this in the Netherlands or abroad.
In this year, all your knowledge and skills come together and you can prove that you have mastered the profession. With your diploma in your possession, you can start working as an engineer!

As an Engineer graduate you can find yourself in various professions. You have a broad education, but the Energy & Process Engineering study route also includes a number of specific professions, such as:

Congratulations, you've now graduated! From now on you may use the title ‘Bachelor of Science’ or ‘Engineer’.
