The SDG Action Days will take place from Friday 23 to Tuesday 27 September. The SDG Action Days is the Dutch event on the Sustainable Development Goals. This year's theme is 'Turn it Around'. Because it is time for a turnaround and if we all work together, with the Sustainable Development Goals as a compass, we can ensure a better future for our people and planet. #TurnItAround for a healthy, fair and green path to a better world without leaving anyone behind.

SDGs within HZ

The Sustainable Development Goals are central to education at HZ, these sustainable development goals are also becoming increasingly important. All goals and ambitions around them can be found in the HZ Institution Plan 2022-2027.

Programme

The SDG Action Days are a national initiative. On the event website, you will find a complete overview of online and offline activities you can attend. HZ organises and joins a number of initiatives (website in Dutch).

Bigger Than Us

The Global Project and Change Management programme will present the screening of the documentary Bigger Than Us on Friday 23 September at 10.00 in GW218. All over the world, young people are calling attention to seemingly diverse problems: climate disruption, curbs on press freedom, social injustice, food insecurity, human rights violations or lack of access to education. All believe things can and should be different, and that they can make a difference. There is no need to sign up.

Hoisting the flag

On Friday 23 September, the SDG Action Days will be kicked off at 12.00 with the hoisting of the flag at the HZ in Vlissingen.

ZLND2050 festival

The second edition of the ZLND2050 festival will take place again this year at the Siloterrein in Middelburg. At the festival, you will discover where we stand on the road to a sustainable, CO2-free Zeeland, and meet people who are working towards this and can help you do the same. In your own way and with your own capabilities. During the ZLND2050 festival, you can take part in various workshops. HZ research centers Biobased Construction and Marine Biobased Specialities are present at the festival in various ways, including with various workshops.

Cancelled: Interactive presentation Gert Biestra

Education educator Gert Biesta will take you through his thinking during an interactive presentation. He has written a book 'The return of teaching'. Teachers have read this book and will engage with him and want to share the insights with you. You can find more information here.
