Become a volunteer at Concert at SEA!

For the fourth year in a row, HZ is collaborating with Concert at SEA. In 2025, students will once again get the chance to help out at the entrance of the festival. With a big smile and under the summer sun, you and other HZ students will welcome the thousands of visitors to the festival. As a volunteer at the entrance, you will ensure that visitors have a fantastic start to their festival experience. Your tasks include:

  • Scanning tickets

  • Handing out cup coins

You are the business card of Concert at SEA! After your shift, you can enter the festival grounds yourself and enjoy the various acts and the day's headline artist. Join us! Do you want to be part of this unique festival and contribute to a great atmosphere? Registration is now no longer possible.

Concert at SEA is an annual music festival that takes place on the Brouwersdam in Zeeland. Concert at SEA is in the Top 5 of the biggest festivals in the Netherlands and has already been voted ‘most beautiful festival location in the Netherlands ’ by the Dutch public (National Culture Survey, 2023). Year after year, music lovers flock to the beautiful Zeeland coast for three days of performances, great food and an unforgettable atmosphere.

We are looking for HZ students who:

  • Are available on 26, 27 and 28 June 2025;
  • are flexible and willing to help out when needed;
  • are available during the two information meetings, 3 April and 3 June;
  • want to work an average of 18 hours over three days;
  • walk around with a smile every day and be energised by the festival atmosphere!

  • Three days' entry to Concert at SEA;
  • A crew shirt from the festival;
  • A water bottle from the festival;
  • Overnight stays on the HZ crew terrain (Recreatiepark Klaverweide); from Wednesday evening 25 June to Sunday morning 29 June;
  • Breakfast at the HZ crew spot;

Each festival day is divided into two shifts; 11:00 - 17:00 and 16:00 - 22:00. You will work one per day. We divide the shifts as fairly as possible, so no one works only evening shifts or only day shifts. Outside your working hours, you are free to go into the festival grounds and enjoy the performances.

Food & drinks

During your work shifts, we provide food and drinks. Outside your shifts, you arrange this yourself, but we will give you a number of consumption tokens to use on the site.

What does your work shift look like?

At the start of your shift, report on time to the entrance where you are assigned. Here, Paylogic employees will be ready to give you instructions. Your work will consist of:

  • Scanning tickets
  • Handing out wristbands to weekend guests
  • Handing out cup coins

To fully enjoy Concert at SEA, the HZ offers free accommodation for students, including breakfast. This year, you will stay in group accommodation at Recreatiepark Klaverweide (Kuijerdamseweg 56, Ellemeet), at walking distance from the festival site.

The accommodation has four-bed rooms with bunk beds, a sink and a wardrobe. There are also several showers and toilets in the building. At night, security is present to ensure peace and quiet, so you can enjoy the festival full of energy the next day.

Rather sleep at home?

No problem! You can arrange your own transport to CAS. If necessary, we can provide you with a parking ticket. You can indicate this at in the registration form during the first information meeting.

To ensure a pleasant and respectful stay for everyone, we kindly ask you to follow these rules:

What to Bring Yourself

  • A sleeping bag

  • A fitted sheet

  • A pillowcase

You may not use the beds without these items.

General Conduct

  • Be respectful: Any form of inappropriate behavior, harassment, or rudeness will not be tolerated. This also includes comments or jokes that may make others feel uncomfortable.

  • Noise: Keep things quiet both indoors and outdoors after 11:00 PM. Be mindful of others.

  • Represent the festival: Other festival guests may be staying nearby. You’re part of the team—leave a good impression.

Inside the Accommodation

  • Smoking indoors is strictly prohibited.

  • Keep things tidy and treat the accommodation with care.

  • Dispose of waste in the correct bins—sort your waste properly.

Upon Departure

  • Leave the accommodation as you found it.

  • Wash the dishes, dry them, and put them away neatly.

  • Empty the trash bins in your room.

  • Close the windows and turn off the lights before you leave.

Did you notice any damage upon arrival?
Take a photo right away, including the date and time, and send it to the contact person. Did damage occur during your stay?
Report it immediately—any damage will be taken seriously.

For students staying overnight at the recreation park, transport has been arranged from the HZ in Vlissingen. The bus leaves on Wednesday 25 June at 19:00. On Sunday 29 June at 12:00, you will be brought back to the HZ Vlissingen. Would you like to use this service? Then indicate this on the registration form. Have you registered, but do you no longer wish to come? Then unsubscribe as soon as possible via helpenbijcas@hz.nl.

Are you not staying at the recreation park? Then you need to arrange your own transport and be there on time. Would you like to park near the festival site? Request a parking ticket via the registration form. Please note: one parking ticket will be issued per car, not per person.

To complete your registration, you need to complete two more steps:

  1. Complete the form that you received via mail by 13 April.
  2. Sign and send the volunteer agreement to helpenbijcas@hz.nl by 13 April. You also received these by e-mail.

Please note that without a complete registration, you will unfortunately not be able to participate.

Register as a group

Before you register, consult with your fellow students who you want to work with during CAS. Only one person per group registers first. This avoids errors in group registration. Follow the steps below:

  • Only one student completes the individual form completely first and creates an account with Ticketcrew.
  • After registration, the ‘Group Registration’ tab will appear at the top of his/her account.
  • Here he/she fills in the e-mail addresses of the other group members.
  • The group members will receive an e-mail with a link to register via here. This ensures that everyone is automatically placed in the same group.

Warm clothes

Although the weather can be nice during the day, it can cool down considerably at night, especially at the gates where there is a lot of wind. Make sure you always bring warm and dry clothes, such as long trousers, thick jumpers and a mackintosh or poncho.

Lockers are available on the grounds, so you can easily store your extra clothes during the day.

Coordinators are in charge

The coordinators at the gates are always in charge. We work on behalf of Concert at SEA and must keep to the agreements made. This means that sometimes you have to stay at the gates even at quiet moments.

The coordinator sets the rules, and this should be listened to at all times. Even if some moments seem less challenging, we expect you to maintain a positive and professional attitude.

We are counting on you

If you have signed up, we are counting on you. Did something unexpected happen and you really can't participate? Then cancel as soon as possible (at least one month in advance) by sending an e-mail to helpenbijcas@hz.nl.

FROM CREW CAMPING → TO THE FESTIVAL

Thursday

  • Option 1 (recommended):
    There is a special crew bus from Recreation Park Klaverweide to North Entrance. On Thursday, we all take the bus together at 10:15. Be there by 10:00, or you’ll have to walk (20 minutes).
    We’ll collect your wristband (entry band) at the Accreditation Desk, then head onto the festival grounds.

    NOTE: Bring your ID card!
  • Option 2:
    Don’t want to go to the festival grounds that early because you're working Shift 2? You can walk to the Accreditation Desk at South Entrance on your own (the regular festival bus does not stop here). Be on time—lines can be long, and you still have to walk to the festival grounds.
    NOTE: Bring your ID card!

Friday and Saturday

You no longer need to check in at the Accreditation Desk. You can go straight to the festival site.

  • To the Festival
    Every morning at 10:15, a crew bus leaves from Recreation Park Klaverweide for those working Shift 1.
    Don’t want to take the crew bus? You can walk—it's a 20-minute walk to South Entrance, and 40 minutes to North Entrance.
    You can also use the regular festival buses, which start running at 11:30 (not in time if you work Shift 1).

THE START OF YOUR WORKDAY

  • Shift 1: Arrive no later than 11:00 at your assigned entrance. Briefing starts at 11:30;
  • Shift 2: Arrive no later than 16:00 at your assigned entrance. Briefing starts at 16:30;
  • Personal belongings can be stored in the backstage portacabin (keep your phone and wallet with you);

  • Each day, a mandatory briefing is held before your shift by Paylogic;
  • Your tasks include scanning tickets, putting on wristbands, or handing out cup tokens. Your coordinator will assign your role;
  • You are an ambassador of the festival: warmly welcome all visitors and wish them a great day;
  • Every entrance has an HZ coordinator: they are your contact point. Have a question or need a toilet break? Raise your hand and relief will be arranged;

  • Be professional and presentable: stay sober and avoid hangovers during your shift.

TOKENS & BREAKS

  • You receive 10 tokens per workday.
    If you're a back-up for a day, you don’t get tokens—unless you're called in to work.

Breaks

Make sure you’ve eaten, drunk enough water, and gone to the toilet before your shift; During your shift, you get a short break. The coordinator will let you know when it’s your turn. Breaks are staggered so entrances remain staffed.

  • Shift 1: You’ll receive a lunch pack at the CREW tent near your working entrance. You can eat during your shift;
  • Shift 2: You’ll receive 5 extra tokens to get dinner at the festival grounds.
    NOTE: You should already have eaten before your shift starts.

  • We aim to divide shifts fairly; the coordinator decides when you can leave;
