Course: Delta Expert

The course is for all professionals, with mbo+/ hbo working and thinking level, who want to complete, update or gain new knowledge about the Southwest Delta.

At the end of the course, you will have insight into how the Southwest Delta has developed from the past, what the expected future developments are, and how all this is related to human use, management and governance.

The Southwest Delta is the area that includes Zeeland, the islands of South Holland and the western part of North Brabant and the northern part of Flanders. This delta has been changing shape regularly for millions of years. And for just as long, climate changes, sea level rises and altered river courses have played tricks on the area and its inhabitants. The dynamics translate into the distribution of salt and fresh water (in ground and surface water), silt movement, ecology and changing human use of land and water.
