He specializes in spatial issues in delta regions with a special focus on the integration of water management issues in complex urbanization processes worldwide.
Lukas studied Urban Planning and Water Management at TU Delft and University of Antwerp, respectively. Within the research group, he investigates the connecting role of spatial planning for a resilient delta. In addition to his work at the research group, he teaches and supervises students in their research projects.
