Before Ilona Borremans-Malm started teaching Social Work at HZ University of Applied Sciences in 2020, she gained more than 20 years of work experience within psychiatry. The first 15 years she worked client-related, the last five mainly as a training advisor. "As a training advisor, I found I knew a lot about psychiatry, but little about how people can best learn and develop."
That is why Ilona started studying the master's degree in Training and Education Sciences at the University of Antwerp. She is doing a master's thesis on teachers' perceptions of educational technology and online learning activities in the Nursing, Pabo, Social Work and Pedagogy programmes.
