Background
In 2021, the Coastal Tourism Knowledge Centre contributed to a feasibility study into the prospects for establishing the Zeeuwse Groene Compagnie. The study revealed that this would entail a significant investment and development risks. In response to these findings, the consortium has set up this demonstration project. The project began on 1 September 2022 and will run for two years.
Our role
This project involves collaboration between Aqua Business Development, De Vrijbuiter, PADMOS (a developer specialising in the electrification of commercial and recreational boating) and HZ Coastal Tourism Knowledge Centre (HZ KCKT). HZ KCKT is contributing by identifying tourists’ motivations and their ecotourism experience, and by testing the appeal of the marketing and communication tools being developed.
Outcome
The first test voyages will be organised in the summer of 2023, at which point we will commence our research. The results are expected in early 2025.
