This information is updated annually, so that trends in tourist accommodation provision can be monitored on an ongoing basis. This enables us to see, for example, whether the number of hotel rooms in Zeeland is increasing or how much glamping accommodation is available in Zeeland. The HZ Coastal Tourism Knowledge Centre combines this data with figures on the development of tourism in Zeeland. Figures on supply and demand thus form an important building block for the spatial and tourism policies of the province and local authorities.

Using an online viewer, you can see how many accommodation units and beds were available in a local authority or town in 2018. Work is currently underway, in collaboration with the Province of Zeeland, on a new dashboard displaying the latest figures.

Project information

As a knowledge centre, we would like to gain a better understanding of the range of accommodation on offer in Zeeland and how this changes from year to year. For this reason, the HZ Coastal Tourism Knowledge Centre worked on the development of the recreational accommodation database in 2017/2018. This database lists all tourist accommodation, from hotels to campsites, and from second homes for private use to bungalow parks. The database was developed in close collaboration with the Province of Zeeland and the participating local authorities. In 2020/2021, a new analysis of the accommodation provision in Zeeland was carried out.
