Wednesday, November 11, was International Day of Women in Science. This day was established by the UN in 2015, partly to highlight the role of women and girls in science. Researcher Eva Hartog from the Aquaculture in Delta Areas research group at HZ University of Applied Sciences appeared on Omroep Zeeland radio as part of the day's celebrations.

Eva conducts practical research into shellfish and crustaceans. She is the point of contact for the mussel and oyster sector in the province of Zeeland. In the past, she has conducted research into the oyster borer and more efficient methods of catching oyster spat.
