Yesterday the official Dutch Health Organisation ‘RIVM’ announced a new temporary measure regarding the coronavirus for residents of the province of Noord-Brabant. In case of serious health problems, but also when mild health complaints occur, HZ advises employees and students living in this province to stay at home. If this applies to you, please report your absence from HZ to your study programme coordinator or manager. Note that HZ is located in the province of Zeeland.

Advice RIVM
“The RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) advises residents of the province of Noord Brabant to limit their social contacts in case they have mild health problems, such as a cold, cough or fever. In these cases, they are required to stay home. If this is the case, please work from home, do not visit others or go to places where many people come together. If you have symptoms but still want to leave your house, keep as much distance from others as possible. This will reduce the chance of you spreading the virus unnoticed. Only call your doctor if the symptoms worsen." Source: RIVM, 6 March 2020 The HZ follows the RIVM’s advice. Please note that this is a temporary advice.

Impact
The exact impact on students and staff is currently being investigated. For the time being, the HZ locations will remain open as usual and the lectures and events will take place as planned.
