Student Company DuRo participated in the national final of the Student Company of the Year 2024 competition on Wednesday. The day took place at the Beatrix Theatre in Utrecht and was organised by Jong Ondernemen.

The HZ students' company competed against four other candidates. All finalists had to pitch their product and concept on stage. Unfortunately, DuRo did not win any prizes, but that does not alter the fact that it was a tremendous achievement for the HZ students to reach the finals. During their journey to the national finals, the students Tom Geluk, Hedy Duijnkerke, Juliano Nieuwenhuijse, Rick Bousie and Dylan Breedveld were coached by teachers Ramon van Ingen, Wouter van Olphen and Peter Westerterp.

R-evolver

DuRo wants to make carers' tasks easier and has created the R-evolver. It allows care providers to roll up bandages faster and easier. Each year, students from several study programmes at HZ University of Applied Sciences form student companies. This introduces them to entrepreneurship. They devise a product together and arrange everything, from production to sales.
