Within the HZ, there is a growing group of changemakers: students, alumni and colleagues who contribute in an exceptionally entrepreneurial way to the mission of the HZ: ‘Contributing to a better world’.
These changemakers make a difference by initiating positive actions from their passion and sharing them with others. In this way, they contribute creative and sustainable solutions to the broad prosperity of today, in the future, in Zeeland and elsewhere. Often, however, they are still too invisible. With the Changemaker Award, the New Business Models chair is changing this.
Positive impact
HZ Changemakers are students, alumni and employees of HZ University of Applied Sciences.They have one thing in common: the drive to make a positive impact in Zeeland and the world. The Changemaker project consists of two parts: the Changemaker Award and the Changemaker Community.
HZ Changemaker Award
The HZ Changemaker Award is an award for a (former) student, lecturer or employee of HZ, who contributes to the social missions of our institution in an ‘exceptionally entrepreneurial way’. The winner receives an award and a sum of money. The Changemaker Award is an initiative of Ageeth van Maldegem's professorship New Business Models.
Changemaker Community
The community is the place where changemakers come together to find inspiration, share ideas and empower each other. Here you will discover who the changemakers are, what they do and how they shape social change, from innovative projects to personal stories. ‘Whether you are a student taking your first steps, an alumnus with a passion for impact, an engaged employee or an investor with a vision: everyone is welcome to join this movement. Together, we will build a better future and develop the skills needed to really make a difference,’ says lector New Business Models Ageeth van Maldegem.
