Helma Verstraeten

Helma Verstraeten is a researcher at the Research Group for Elderly Care. In addition to this role, she is pursuing a PhD on addressing challenging behavior in people with dementia and in geriatric rehabilitation care. She also works one day a week as a policy advisor at the elderly care organization Amarijn.

In 2010, Helma completed her Nursing/Midwifery degree at HZ University of Applied Sciences/Antwerp AP University of Applied Sciences. She then obtained a degree in Health Sciences and worked as a policy advisor at Amarijn. Since 2024, she has been affiliated with the Research Group for Elderly Care. Helma is passionate about contributing to the quality of life and well-being of the elderly by bridging research, practice, and policy.
