'It is clear that the transition requires different research questions'
Living Ecosystem is a research program of HZ University of Applied Sciences, Avans and Hogeschool Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences to accelerate the transition to bio-based materials.
Lecturers, researchers and students from the universities of applied sciences are working together with governments and companies to this end. The goal is to achieve a real breakthrough in this field, says project leader Douwe-Frits Boens of the Centre of Expertise Biobased Economy. "It is clear that the transition requires other research questions and methods, other facilities and other research coalitions," he says in an article on the Agro and Chemistry website.
