Three hundred students from the economic domain of HZ will spend a full week, starting Monday 19 January, working on concrete assignments from governments, organizations, and companies.
Their questions are related to broad prosperity in the province and, in particular, to the future perspective 'Zeeland 2050'. The students come from degree programs such as Commercial Economics, Tourism Management, Business Administration, and Communication. They work together in interdisciplinary teams, meaning teams with students from different study programs.
More than thirty assignments
During the week, they conduct field research, consult with their clients and coaches, and take part in several workshops. More than thirty assignments have been submitted. A few examples:
- The municipality of Reimerswaal wants to know how culture can contribute to the well-being of its residents
- DOW asks how Zeeland could become the place for students and young professionals to study, work, and live
- The municipality of Terneuzen is looking for an answer to what young people understand by 'buzz' or 'liveliness' and which activities they feel are missing in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen
- GGD Zeeland asks how they can best reach young people about topics such as mental health and lifestyle
- The province has submitted several questions, including how the education and research themes of water, energy, and food can be made more tangible and engaging for the people of Zeeland
The week starts on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with a kickoff and inspiration session about Zeeland 2050 in the HZ auditorium in Vlissingen. On Friday from 10:00 a.m., the student teams will present their answers to the clients. They will do this by means of a poster. Those who are interested are welcome to come and take a look in the Atrium between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.
