HZ Social Work lecturer Rose Mandungu will be going on a number of expeditions to the Waterdunen nature reserve near Breskens, starting on Friday 13 March.
Together with enthusiastic HZ students, staff, artists and interested parties, she will explore the landscape and the North Sea in a different way during 'Expedition: Pasje op de Plaats?!' using sensory, reflective and imaginative working methods. "How can we learn to listen to the sea, the landscape and all living things again? How can art help us restore the bond between humans and nature? We will discover this during the expedition", says Rose.
The expedition is part of Rose's graduation research for her Master of Education in Arts at the HKU in Utrecht. "Inspired by environmental philosophers, who place humans not above but in the world (as participants), I am investigating how art and nature experiences help us to feel and deepen our connection with living things."

The expedition lasts approximately three hours. The starting point is the lighthouse in Breskens, and the start time depends on the weather. Would you like to join us? Register using this form. Do you have any questions? Send an email to pasjeopdeplaats@outlook.com.
