Doing an internship at HZ, Middle-level Applied Education level (MBO) student Aniek Adriaanse was all for it! She came to work at our International Office and then chose to study at HZ.

Stories from students

“When I started my internship, I was able to welcome all the new international students and help them with their questions. During my internship, organizing the photo competition of Minor & Internship Abroad and the exhibition of the photos were major assignments for me. I also worked on various projects and I kept in touch with the international students at HZ and with HZ students who were abroad, which I found one of the nicest aspects, as I heard about their experiences, which I shared via, for example, social media. For my graduation project I organized the Study Abroad Fair, an event where we inform students about internship and study opportunities outside the Netherlands.

Lots of responsibility

This internship was very valuable to me. It was an inspiring and fun period with great colleagues. I developed my English speaking and writing skills, learnt how to organize events and manage social media. I was given a lot of responsibility and this has made me more confident and independent.

Further studies

After I graduated from the MBO, I enrolled in International Business at HZ! So, I continue to gain international experience, I am in an international class. I am going to do an internship in Germany and follow a minor in Mexico. And I still regularly help at the International Office!”
