Today, the annual hbo monitor by the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) of Maastricht University was published. Conclusion: hbo graduates are doing well on the labour market.

A total of more than 22,000 hbo graduates took part in the ROA survey. They completed their studies in the 2022/2023 academic year and were approached eighteen months after graduation. Below are some key results:

  • About 85% of all full-time students found a job within 3 months of graduation;
  • Of graduates, 78% immediately find a job at least at college level;
  • The unemployment rate among recent college graduates is low at 3.5% in 2024, as in previous years;
  • The average gross monthly wage was €3,307 in 2024;
  • 77% of graduates said they had found a job in line with their studies;
  • Of hbo graduates, 70% say that the course provides a good basis for further development of knowledge and skills.

HZ results

A total of 402 HZ alumni completed the HBO Monitor. Below are some key results specific to HZ:

  • 76% of HZ graduates would recommend their studies to family and friends. This is higher than the national average of 70%;
  • 72% of HZ graduates feel that the study provides a good basis for starting on the labour market. This is higher than the national average of 66%;
  • 74% of HZ graduates feel that the programme provides a good basis to further develop knowledge and skills. This is higher than the national average of 69%.
