I started studying at HZ University of Applied Sciences in 2014 as an International Business student.
From the very beginning, I enjoyed the international atmosphere and the small class sizes. This gave me the opportunity to work closely with my lecturers and receive personal guidance throughout my studies. I especially appreciated the practical approach of the programme, where we worked on real business cases and connected directly with companies instead of focusing only on theory.
During my second year in Vlissingen, I joined the Student Ambassador Team. This experience helped me develop my presentation and communication skills while becoming part of a motivated group of international students who were excited to share their experiences at HZ.
In my third year, I studied abroad for a semester in Seoul, South Korea. There, I expanded my knowledge of finance and geopolitics while experiencing a completely different culture and international environment.
After my exchange semester, I joined EMOTA, the European eCommerce and Omni-Channel Trade Association, in Brussels. At EMOTA, I learned more about eCommerce, European legislation, and the role of European institutions while gaining valuable international work experience.
For my graduation internship, I worked at Drink it Fresh in Brussels as an international business and sales developer. This gave me the opportunity to further develop my professional skills in an international business environment.
HZ has given me opportunities beyond what I could have imagined. Over the years, I have lived in four different countries across two continents and experienced life in global cities, the European capital Brussels, and the international community of Vlissingen.
I am currently studying for a Master in International Business at Grenoble Ecole de Management in France, one of Europe’s leading business schools. In the future, I hope to build a career as a manager within an international organisation.
