What does a better world look like to you? And what role can HZ play in this? On Tuesday 25 September 2025, the national SDG Action Day will take place. At HZ, we will also be reflecting on the Sustainable Development Goals and working towards a sustainable future. We cordially invite you to join us for the raising of the SDG flag and the unveiling of a new SDG artwork.

SDG flag as a symbol

As in previous years, we will be raising the SDG flag at HZ in Vlissingen. This will be done by John Dane, member of the Executive Board, together with students and staff.

Time: 9:00 a.m.
Location: HZ square, in front of Edisonweg 4, Vlissingen

Festive unveiling of new artwork

Afterwards, we will unveil the new artwork “ENVIRONMENT”. This work by artists Hans Bommeljé and Leon Riekwell was created in collaboration with HZ students. It will be placed next to the HZ garden and will be officially unveiled by John Dane of the Executive Board. Afterwards, you are welcome to join us for a drink made with ingredients from the HZ garden.
