On Tuesday 3 November, Colsen won both the jury and public prizes at the Emergo Innovation Awards. The prizes were presented to the Hulst-based company during the Contacta.nl networking fair. For ten years now, the student jury from HZ University of Applied Sciences, consisting of students from the Commercial Economics, Business Administration and Finance and Control programmes, has played an important role in judging the nominated innovations.

Over the past ten years, the students have visited and assessed fifty companies. To mark the anniversary, researchers from the HZ Knowledge Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation have produced a booklet.

The researchers analysed the students' material and spoke (again) with the Emergo winners, students, lecturers and other stakeholders. ‘All the stories show, among other things, that the Emergo prize makes an important contribution through the many learning moments and a strengthening of the network,’ say lecturer Ageeth van Maldegem and domain director Daphne Zerbib-Jasperse in the foreword.

Frank Peeters, Stef Bleyenberg, Leila de Ronde, Ignaas Caryn, Gino Thuij and Marjolein van Noort also contributed to the booklet. Deputy Jo-Annes de Bat wrote the closing words.

The booklet (in Dutch) can be read here.

A video has also been made in which Ageeth explains the importance of the student jury. Watch it below.
