In the 2027 Keuzegids, 11 of the 21 degree programmes assessed at HZ University of Applied Sciences are ranked in the top three. Eight programmes have been designated as ‘top programmes’. These are awarded a quality seal because they have scored more than 75 points. Of the twelve medium-sized universities of applied sciences, HZ ranks fourth with 70.5 points.
First place
Of the 11 programmes in the top three, four HZ programmes are in first place. These are Tourism Management, Architecture, Global Project and Change Management (GPCM) and Maritime Officer. The latter two programmes were also at the top of the rankings last year. This time, GPCM achieved a score of 91 points and Maritime Officer 92 points. This also earns them the designation of ‘top programme’. The six other top programmes at HZ are Primary School Teacher, Social Work, Nursing, Tourism Management, Chemistry and Industrial Engineering.
An impressive institutional score
Hendrik-Jan van Arenthals, Chair of the Executive Board, is pleased with the result. “We are a broad-based university of applied sciences and, with a score of 70.5, have once again achieved an excellent institutional score. I am proud of the eight top programmes – those rated highest nationally – and all the programmes that feature in the top three. Naturally, we recognise areas for improvement. As a student-centred university of applied sciences, we continue to work together constantly to improve the quality of our teaching and research. Students’ feedback is an important guide in this regard. That is why the publication of the Keuzegids is always an important moment for us.”
