HZ University of Applied Sciences and Damen Naval have signed a strategic partnership agreement. It states that they will join forces in education and research through internships, staff exchanges and joint projects.
They want to work together towards a strong, future-proof region in which education and the labour market are well aligned.
Fieldlab
HZ and Damen are no strangers to each other. In recent years they have already collaborated extensively, including on the Fieldlab Autonomous Sailing Technology project.
Hendrik-Jan van Arenthals, Chair of the Executive Board of HZ, and Ronald Briene, Managing Director of Damen Naval, signed the agreement. Jan Tenk from HZ's Technical Business Administration/Industrial Engineering programme spoke about the existing collaboration with Damen. Mischa Beckers, Professor of Data Science at HZ, presented several examples of his projects that could be of interest to Damen, and Martijn Flips of Damen talked about working at the shipbuilder and studying at HZ.
The agreement was made possible in part by HZ Nexus.
