The ‘Fiedlab Monitoring Zeelandbrug’ project, a collaboration between the provincial government, HZ University of Applied Sciences, Witteveen&Bos, World Class Maintenance and Delft University of Technology, has been nominated for the IAM NL Award. This is an award presented by the Dutch branch of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM), an international professional association for asset management professionals.
The award is intended for a project that ‘excels in vision, execution and impact within the field of asset management’. Alongside the Zeeland project, ProRail, Schiphol and Heijmans Infra have also been nominated. The winner will be announced on 17 September during the annual conference of IAM Netherlands. At the conference, each of the three nominees will be given eight minutes to pitch their project.
Structural safety
The field lab is a two-year research project aimed at assessing the structural safety and remaining service life of the sixty-year-old bridge. The Asset Management research group led by associate professor Vana Tsimopoulou, together with researchers Padraig Naughton and Albert Repko, and the Data Science research group led by associate professor Mischa Beckers are involved.
