Marc Vilanova

I am a visual and sound artist based in Barcelona. My work explores sounds and vibrations that exist beyond the limits of human perception. What is happening around us that we cannot hear or sense, but is nevertheless there?
Working with light, materials and technology, I create expanded sculptures, listening devices and large-scale installations that make these hidden realities perceptible. My work invites us to listen differently and shift our attention beyond the human as the centre of experience, towards the many other forms of life, forces and movements of which we are part.
My work has been presented at cultural institutions, museums, festivals and international biennials around the world, including Onassis Stegi in Athens, the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in Riyadh, Science Gallery Melbourne, Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, BIENALSUR in Buenos Aires, Ars Electronica in Linz and Tokyo Wonder Site.
