Godelieve Spaas

Godelieve Spaas is a lector in Art, Culture, Transition at HZ University of Applied Sciences.

She works as a creator and researcher at the intersection of art, society and systemic change. With a background in dance, anthropology, and the new economy, she weaves thinking, doing, making, and imagining together in her research and teaching.

From 2018 to 2025, she was a lector in Economy in Common at Avans University of Applied Sciences, where she developed alternative economic practices in collaboration with artists, entrepreneurs, students, and communities.

Godelieve is a fellow at the research community of the Veranderschool at Groene Afslag, a curator at the Future of Work Foundation (a platform for a collective economy), a member of the Supervisory Board of Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons, and a fire keeper of the World Ethic Forum on what radically shared aliveness entails.

Her work connects imagination with social and ecological urgency, always starting from the question: how do we want to live together, and what does that ask of our language, our relationships with one another and our context and what do we need to unlearn?
