The Zeeland Academic Centre for Elderly Care is a permanent partnership between twelve organisations.

The organisations, representing the fields of practice, policy, research and education, collaborate on the following themes: Staying Healthy, Care at Home, Care Technology, and Work and Education. The organisations undertake research projects jointly, and the insights gained are put into practice immediately.

The AWOZ has an organisational structure comprising a steering group, a coordinator and a coordinating core group with representatives (anchors) from policy, research and practice (a multi-sectoral approach). Older people participate actively and sit on both the steering group and the core group, as well as in project teams where appropriate.

Mission

The AWOZ’s mission is to improve the quality of life and well-being of older people in Zeeland by improving care for older people. The development, implementation and exchange of knowledge within the AWOZ contribute to the realisation of this mission.

Vision

The AWOZ is regarded as a unifying force for all organisations in Zeeland involved in care, support and services for older people, regardless of where they live. It is a vital hub for elderly care that builds bridges between research, practice, policy and education, and which fosters collaboration on projects for knowledge development and implementation.

The following organisations are involved in the AWOZ: Adrz, Erasmus University, GGD Zeeland, Allévo, HZ University of Applied Sciences, University College Roosevelt, the Province of Zeeland, SVRZ, WVO Zorg, Zorggroep Ter Weel, Zorgstroom, POSO and ZorgSaam.
