The aims of the Fieldlab is to better understand the actual structural behavior of the Zeeland Bridge. This knowledge supports safe and predictable management of the bridge for the next 15 to 20 years while simultaneously yielding new insights with broader applicability across the Dutch infrastructure sector. The project is an innovative initiative that fosters both the safety of the bridge and the development of new technologies. The bridge's current condition is being assessed and its structural behavior monitored—including through the execution of numerous load tests. This data will provide insight into the bridge's remaining service life and serve as the basis for recommendations regarding future maintenance.
