The SPRONG program 'Hospitable Transitions' officially launched in December. HZ University of Applied Sciences is one of three universities of applied sciences participating in the project, which aims to accelerate sustainable transitions in the leisure, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

NHL Stenden and Breda University of Applied Sciences are the other two institutions involved. HZ and BUAS are collaborating within the Centre of Expertise Leisure Tourism and Hospitality. Together, they have a budget of two million euros over the next four years to make the project a success.

Resilient Region

They view the grant awarded by Regieorgaan SIA as "an important step toward a resilient and future-proof region." The group will bring together businesses, knowledge institutions, and social organizations to develop innovative solutions that make a sustainable impact on the region. Researchers will focus on themes such as climate neutrality, broad-based prosperity, healthy regions, and regenerative area development.
