HZ University of Applied Sciences is one of the parties involved in the BlueVantage research project.
It is one of twelve projects in the NWO's Perspective programme. This programme focuses on projects aimed at developing and refining technological innovations. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and NWO are funding the projects with a total of 46.4 million euros. The business community is contributing an additional 19.6 million euros.
Purification technologies
In BlueVantage, a large consortium is conducting research into new, integrated, biological, physicochemical and nature-based purification technologies. These are intended to remove difficult contaminants from drinking water and recover valuable raw materials from industrial and municipal wastewater. The technologies are being tested in practice and the partners are jointly developing a vision for financing legislation and regulations for water reuse. The aim is to achieve a clean, more reliable water supply.
Water technology
On behalf of HZ, professor in Water Technology Hans Cappon is involved, among others. Other knowledge institutions include the University of Amsterdam, Wageningen University & Research, Utrecht University, the University of Twente and Delft University of Technology. Numerous companies and organisations are also involved.
The Perspective programme combines technological and social innovations. According to the NWO, this combination ensures actual application in practice.
