How do we ensure that children in Zeeland continue to receive good education? How do we stay healthy? How do we make sure that care for our elderly remains at a high level? And how do we maintain the balance between tourism and livability in this region?
These are the questions that the research groups of the Applied Research Centre Vitality are trying to answer. They do this together with many partners in the field, both within and outside the region.
Challenges
As a visitor to Concert at Sea, you undoubtedly know: Zeeland is a beautiful province. It’s a wonderful and healthy place to live, work, study, and enjoy leisure time. However, the province also faces some significant challenges. These include an aging population and a decline in the number of young people, a very tight labor market, and the need to make progress in sustainability.
Researchers at ARC Vitality map out broad prosperity, promote excellence in education, ensure that people are and remain healthier, can live independently at home for longer, support businesses in becoming more sustainable, and accelerate social and economic innovation. In doing so, they impact the daily lives of every resident of Zeeland and help ensure that Zeeland remains a sustainable, dynamic delta.
