HZ University of Applied Sciences is involved in two projects that received a grant in the second week of April from the ‘Zeeland in stroomversnelling’ programme.

This concerns the PureP feasibility study. Together with Colsen Adviesburo voor Milieutechniek, the Brabantse Delta Water Board and HYDROM, HZ is investigating how phosphorus can be removed from and recovered from wastewater without the use of chemicals. The partnership will receive €50,000 for this.

Crabs

In addition, the province is making €176,640 available for the Crustalicious Circulair project. In this project, HZ is working with Crustalicious, Bodec, Nutrifocus and Kingfish Zeeland on the reuse of crab waste streams for new products. In total, six feasibility studies and three demonstration projects received funding from the programme. The total budget was 1,300,000 euro.
