The Delta Climate Centre (DCC) has been selected as one of five KIN hubs in the Netherlands. The hubs are regional centres where knowledge, policy and practice come together to tackle (regional) climate challenges.

It is an initiative of the Climate Research Initiative Netherlands (KIN).

Through the hubs, KIN aims to accelerate climate transitions at the regional level and facilitate the exchange of knowledge on this topic. ‘This will enable us to make better use of valuable local insights and systematically build up expertise to support transitions. In this way, a powerful infrastructure for fair climate transitions will be created,’ says the KIN. "It is a unique opportunity for us to participate in the KIN hub pilot. We are combining our strengths and knowledge to accelerate transitions in the region. This will benefit our DCC community and, ultimately, Zeeland as well. The energy and enthusiasm of everyone involved in the KIN hubs are the driving force behind this," says Susann Ludwig of the Delta Climate Centre.

Other hubs

The four other hubs are located in Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, AMS, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), Nijmegen and Arnhem (Radboud Centre for Sustainability Challenges in collaboration with Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences), Enschede (UT Climate Centre) and Wageningen (Climate Centre being established by Wageningen Environmental Research).
