On Thursday, October 29, Edwin Tazelaar will be inaugurated as professor of renewable energy for the research group Delta Power. The afternoon at Het Groene Woud in Middelburg will focus on the energy transition.
Delta Power conducts research into sustainable energy systems in delta regions. Together with students, researchers, lecturers, and companies, it aims to stimulate innovation and the energy transition. In his inaugural address, Edwin will explain how he intends to achieve this and which research lines he is focusing on.
The afternoon begins at 1:00 PM. After the official opening, Edwin and his researchers will present results from multi-year research programs of the Just Transition Fund, along with insights from recent research. There will be talks on topics including:
- Citizens, businesses, and government in a regional energy transition
- Success and failure factors for heat network initiatives
- Arnestein Smart Grid
- A grid model and PV identification for Zeeland
- An analysis of the major power outage in Spain
- Power quality aspects of our electricity network
- Kite flying to generate electricity
- Cremation using hydrogen
There will also be demonstrations of hydrogen technologies, and the heat transition lab will be open for viewing.
