On Thursday 28 May, the second edition of the HZ Regeneration Festival, organised by the HZ Impact Lab, will take place.

During the festival, students will present ideas and perspectives in the fields of innovation and regeneration. They will create and deliver their own workshops and presentations, positioning themselves as young professionals tackling real-world challenges. Come and listen to the students and learn from them. Topics will include regenerative music, the circular economy and bio-based solutions.

One of the festival’s objectives is to bring together students, lecturers and external guests to strengthen future partnerships and explore how we can move beyond sustainability towards regeneration.

Bas van den Berg

The festival begins with a keynote address by Bas van den Berg, lecturer in Regeneration at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and founder of the School for Regenerative Educators. In his keynote, Van den Berg explores what it means to work regeneratively: how can we look beyond efficiency and exploitation and shift to approaches that restore, renew and strengthen our systems? He does this, among other things, using a case study of a regenerative company. He also reflects on the role of research in regeneration. Last year, Van den Berg published the book ‘The Art of Regenerative Educatorship’.
