Your study career coach (SLC) is there for you as your first point of contact if you have experienced or witnessed something unpleasant or unsafe.

Internal helplines

Student counselor

The HZ student counselor can help you with questions about finances, personal circumstances, your studies, or laws and regulations. The Student Dean guides you and refers you to the student psychologist or another specialist if necessary.

Student psychologist

Do you have mental health issues affecting your academic progress? If so, you can request a meeting with one of the HZ student psychologists: Marcia Nieuwets and Petra de Bil. Everything you discuss with the student psychologist is entirely confidential.

Confidential counselor

Have you experienced unwanted forms of interaction? Think of aggression and violence, sexual harassment, unwanted advances, bullying, or discrimination. If so, you can contact one of the HZ confidential counsellors: Steffi de Folter and Michel Schroevers (internal) or Jeroen van Duikeren and José van den Boomgaard (external).

Victim Support Netherlands

All victims of crimes, traffic accidents or disasters deserve support. Every year we help hundreds of thousands of victims and surviving relatives. We can provide emotional support, help you get compensation for you damages, and support you in the criminal justice process. We will help you when you want it, in a way that suits you. Sexual Assault Center

We offer professional help to anyone who has had an unwanted sexual experience. It doesn’t matter if it happened online or offline, recently or a long time ago. Do you need help or do you have questions? We can help and are here for you day and night.

Educational disputes

In the Dutch educational system, schools are obliged to adequately deal with the complaints and objections of parents. The reason for this is that acknowledging complaints and objections contributes to the quality of education. Stichting Onderwijsgeschillen (Foundation for Educational Disputes) is an impartial organisation that deals with disputes in education.
