Gifted coach and autism and ADHD coach
At HZ, every student gets the chance to develop their talent. However, education must be accessible to everyone. Do you experience any barriers that prevent you from fully participating in education? Then please know that you can get support. This support is tailor-made. Together, we look at what you need to be able to participate fully in your studies.
Support for anyone experiencing barriers
Do you have a physical disability, hearing or sight problems, dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, a form of autism, are you gifted or highly gifted, are you suffering from depression or chronic pain? Or do you experience social, physical and/or mental barriers to education at HZ in any other way? If so, we offer you support and facilities to suit your needs. Here, the focus is on your needs.
How to request support
You can discuss your needs with your study career coach. If you want to explore your eligibility for extra facilities, you contact the student counsellor yourself. See the student counsellor of your study programme here. During an intake interview, together with the student counsellor you will identify the obstacles you experience or expect to experience during your studies.
Possible facilities and support
What facilities you need or what support can help you depends on the problem you are experiencing. Support is tailor-made. Think, for example of extra guidance, extra test time, using earplugs during a test, using a laptop during a test, a standing table instead of a desk and so on.
These are possibilities, but this list is by no means exhaustive. The best solution for you will be looked at by the student counsellor together with you.

For example, because you don't know whether an internship placement can guide you properly or because you don't know whether you should tell about your barriers? Then contact Stichting Studeren en Werken op Maat. This foundation helps you find an internship or workplace that suits your talents and qualities. Of course, you can also discuss this with the student counsellor first.
