Follow minor

A minor is an important part of your study at the HZ. With your choice of minor you can give your study your own touch. Usually you do your minor in the third or fourth year. A minor is intended to broaden or deepen your knowledge. You can choose to specialise in an aspect of your future profession or broaden your view of society by taking a more general minor which may not be specifically related to your future profession, but does make a useful addition for your future career.

The HZ believes that your minor should fit in with your study programme and your study career. Therefore, your choice of minor assessed. You can register for a minor as soon as you have passed your propaedeutic phase and also obtained at least 30 credits in the main phase.

It is also possible to follow a minor at an institution other than the HZ, or even abroad. To do so, you will need permission from the (departmental) examination board. You have to use the form "Checklist request external minor to departmental examination board". You can find instructions in the HZ Minor guide.

You can find all the minors taught at (Dutch) universities of applied sciences on www.kiesopmaat.nl. Do you want to follow a minor abroad? Check this information page.
