Safety

Every year, more and more HZ students are going abroad for studies and/or internship. A fantastic experience of course, but be aware of the risks too.

You are responsible

Responsibility for your safety lies with you. To support you, HZ has written a guide in cooperation with International Security Partners (ISP): Safer travel and stays abroad.

The guide contains a large number tips for your security. It also focuses on being on the move - travelling, driving, walking and so on - because generally speaking, that's when you're most at risk . Read the guide so you are prepared, as well as possible, if something happens.

Travel advice Ministry of Foreign Affairs and HZ policy

Based on the travel advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HZ determines if a study or internship abroad is justified. When the risk is considered too high, the trip will be suspended or an alternative solution will be sought. It goes without saying that you too have your own responsibility in this.
Travel advice:

  • Green, yellow: HZ-students can study / do an internship there
  • Orange: HZ discourages/negatively advises students going there. If students still do part of their studies (includes internship) in a country country with code orange, it will be the own responsibility of the student and HZ can't be held responsible for any consequences.
  • Red: HZ-students can't study or do an internship there.
