From 1 January 2024, all paper cups in the HZ will be replaced by Billie Cups. These are recyclable drinking cups with a trade-in system. At the HZ, we used to throw away 200,000 to 300,000 coffee cups every year! By using Billie Cups, we can save a lot of waste and thus contribute to a better world.

Pick up your Billie Cup for free

For €1.50, you can buy a Billie Cup including lid from the HZ Shop and HZ Catering. Is your Billie Cup worn out or does your latte macchiato not fit in the blue cup? Then your Cup will be exchanged for a larger size free of charge.

Redeeming Billie Cup

With the Billie Cup, you can get drinks from the HZ Shop, catering and coffee machines. You wash your used cup yourself before returning it. You can do this at the coffee corners at both HZ locations, or at the sink next to the catering on Edisonweg. There you will find washing-up liquid, a washing-up brush and a tea towel. With your clean Billie Cup, you can score another drink. Does your latte macchiato not fit in the standard-sized Billie Cup? Then it will be exchanged for a larger size Cup free of charge. Not ordering a new drink right away? Then choose a trade-in coin. You can use this coin the next time you order a new Cup of coffee. You always hand in your Billie Cup without the lid, which you keep yourself.

Guests and events

If you receive a guest at the HZ, you obviously want to offer them something to drink. A number of ceramic mugs are available for them. You can find them at the coffee corner in the staffroom on Edisonweg and in the restaurant in the Groene Woud. If you have used mugs, put them back in the designated trolleys in the atrium and restaurant. That way, we prevent dirty dishes from accumulating in sinks. Tableware is used at events.
