Giuliana Scuderi studied Building and Structural engineering at the University of Brescia (Italy). In 2016, she completed her Ph.D. in Mechanical and Structural Systems at the University of Trento (Italy) in collaboration with the Chair of Innovative Structural Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUe, The Netherlands). Her research focused upon biomimetic and adaptive structural solutions to retrofit existing social housing buildings.
In 2016, she joins HZ University Of Applied Sciences and becomes Lecturer, and then Programme Coordinator in Civil Engineering. From 2019, she is working with the research group Biobased Bouwen; her postdoctoral research focuses on innovative biobased materials and their mechanical characteristics, with the aim of developing new technologies and applications within the structural engineering field.
