Your work as a lecturer
By teaching classes such as applied mathematics, applied physics and mechanics of materials, you will give students that solid foundation in engineering we feel is necessary for a good industrial engineering student. In addition, students are also guided during their studies and in this you play a role as a study career coach, or you participate in an educational programme that we carry out for an international university. As we also teach our programme part-time, sometimes we work in the full time and sometimes in the part-time programme. Should you have expertise in electrical engineering, you will be hired by the Maritime Officer and Engineering programmes, which are run by our colleagues.

And to ensure that education remains connected to contemporary practice, you are constantly engaged in social trends, and new developments. For example, you will then supervise trainees, participate in a professional field committee or work in a project.

Our personal and practice-based education is characterised by learning from and doing applied research. Together with other courses and research groups, we work on themes in asset management, supply chain innovation and sustainability. Here, good research skills come in handy. This cooperation is done in the Joint Research Centre Zeeland, among other places. This unique laboratory is equipped with the latest equipment and is an inspiring place where researchers, students and companies work together on projects. Usually at regional and sometimes at an (inter)national level.

You use your knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to train students to become enterprising, innovative and values-driven professionals. You do this by:

  • Teaching
  • Supervising and coaching students
  • Connecting with the business field.

The team
Our team consists of about 8 colleagues, all professionals from the business world. Given the size of our programme, the focus is on working well together and being able to switch quickly. We want to be able to replace each other if the situation demands it. In practice, we therefore work at the Vlissingen and Middelburg locations, and because of our international students, we are bilingual.
