Jacob Capelle is a senior researcher within the Aquaculture in Delta Areas research group. He focuses on land-based and near shore aquaculture, mainly shellfish cultivation.

He worked as a PhD student at IMARES Wageningen UR for four years after completing his biology course at Wageningen University, focussing on the productivity factors of extensive mussel farming. This study is currently in its final phase. He is mainly interested in applied research in close cooperation with the shellfish sector, optimisation of production, new techniques and the effects of cultivation management on the dynamics of the cultivated species.
