Knowledge session on innovative, flood resilient landscapes
The Kenniscommunity Zuidwestelijke Delta is organising a knowledge session on innovative, flood resilient landscapes on Thursday 21 October. You're welcome to attend this session, which will run from 14:30 to 17:00. The meeting will take place physically at the HZ University of Applied Sciences at Het Groenewoud in Middelburg, but online attendance is also possible.
Innovative, flood resilient landscapes are currently a hot topic in the South-western Delta. What are they and how do they contribute to water safety, ecological functioning and future use of our coastal landscape?
In three presentations, lecturers and researchers will discuss the technical, ecological and socio-economic aspects of innovative, flood resilient landscapes on the basis of current projects. Opportunities for multiple use of space, social innovation and new earning models are central to these presentations.
The presentations will be given by Joost Stronkhorst and Mascha Dedert for earning models, Vana Tsimopoulou for technical innovation and Teun Terpstra and Vincent Bax for social innovation.

After the presentations, everyone can participate in a Q&A session in which solutions and possibilities for cooperation are discussed.

The Kenniscommunity Zuidwestelijke Delta is an informal partnership between Rijkswaterstaat, Staatsbosbeheer, Zeeuwse Milieufederatie, Wageningen Marine Research, Deltares, HZ University of Applied Science and NIOZ. The aim of the partnership is to secure, access, maintain and develop knowledge of the South-western Delta more efficiently and effectively.
