Excellence in Education in secondary education

The associate professorship Excellence in Education in Secondary (special) Education came into existence through the initiative of the Zeeland secondary schools organised in the “Zeeuws Bestuurdersoverleg Onderwijs”. This associate professorship is a collaboration of the HZ University of Applied Sciences and the Roosevelt Center for Excellence in Education.
In this research group, excellence in education means that every pupil, regardless of his or her level or need for support, can develop optimally. An important aim of the research group is to bridge the gap between science and the educational practice. In order to achieve this, the research group conducts, among other things, research into the conditions under which each pupil, at every level, can develop optimally. The questions and ideas for this research are to a large extent derived from the educational practice in Zeeland and are examined together with lecturer-researchers from Zeeland secondary education.
